Matcha, Turmeric, & Lavender Boba

July 27, 2018

OK all you BOBA maniacs out there, here it is!!! I’ve been a major consumer of this sweet chewy treat for quite sometime now and couldn’t have been happier to use some tea from my wife’s shop http://www.pacificthyme.com to make this beautiful milk tea boba. Anyways, hope you all enjoyed the video and go grab yourself a bag of boba ASAP! Let’s get started.

Pour 1 cup of black pearl tapioca into boiling water.

Boil the boba for about 5-6 minutes or until the tapioca rises to the top and finally settles to the bottom.

Scoop the boba out of the boiling water and into a bowl. When cooked, they should be tender and chewy. If they are a little hard, continue cooking for another 1-2 minutes.

Pour 4 tbsp of honey into the bowl.

Add 4 tbsp of brown sugar.

Mix well. Let the boba cool down to about room temperature.

Brew and steep the tea of your choice: Matcha, Turmeric, or Lavender.

Try to brew your tea between 170 – 190 degrees Fahrenheit. Boiling water can often burn your tea. Steep for about 5 minutes for good permeation.

Depending on your preference, pour about 3-5 tablespoons of boba into a glass.

Next, pour in your brewed tea of choice.

Top it with ice.

Add a splash of your preferred milk.

Before drinking, give a good mix to infuse the sweetness of the boba into the tea.

Finally, it’s time to drink and enjoy!
